Training & Development Programme 2008'Something to do, somewhere to go, someone to talk to . . . ' Use the following link to access the new Calendar for 2008. For statutory, voluntary and community organisations who work with young people on the Isle of Wight. Welcome to this year's training and development programme. The programme is aimed at everyone working with young people in a paid or voluntary capacity. We aim to provide a broad based training programme with the opportunity to gain knowledge, test ideas, challenge attitudes and learn new skills which will positively impact on the work you deliver to young people, and raise the quality of service provision. The programme is developed directly from information given by you, from your performance development review if you are an Isle of Wight Council Youth Worker, and from feedback and requests from the voluntary and community sector. Each course has specific learning outcomes which will be sent to you along with your confirmation letter. As you are aware, work with Children and Young People on the Isle of Wight is undergoing a period of major change which includes the reorganisation of schools, the restructuring of Children's Services, the future commissioning of servicesm and the development of integrated working practices. As part of the change process and moving towards a more integrated way of working there will be training opportunities that arise throughout the year that include training in Integrated Working, The Lead Professional role, the Common Assessment Framework and Information Sharing. Our published programme has been reduced to take account of this training many of you will be asked to attend. This training will be advertised or arranged in multi-agency teams throughout the year ahead, and will be fundamental to forming positive integrated working relationships and building on current good practise. We continually monitor and evaluate the training we provide and the systems in place to enable it to happen. If you have any feedback to help us improve what we do or how we do it, please get in touch.
